The Eastern Fox Snake (Elaphe gloydi) is a large snake (up to 1.7 m) that prefers habitat near water. This constrictor is sometimes confused with rattlesnakes because of its blotchy pattern and tendency to vibrate its tail in the grass when it is alarmed. It gets its name from the musky odour it gives off when  handled. Simply click on an image to see a larger version of this photo.
